Government Tank Detention Basin
Remal designed a 76.7-acre-foot detention basin on the east end of the Government Tank Flood Corridor. The detention basin includes an engineered berm on the north side, along with riprap rundowns throughout the entire basin. There is a south outlet into a 10'x4' box culvert. The north outlet is a swale that contains armored riprap and riprap sills to help with energy dissipation. The riprap fans out into the Coconino National Forest, where further mitigation was done in collaboration with Natural Channel Design and USFS.
Pictures below show the basin and outlets during different phases of construction!
