Government Tank Storm Drain
Pipe Run Drone Video
Remal designed a 10-foot diameter storm drain that runs for nearly 3,000 linear feet. Water is conveyed from the Government Tank Watershed on the San Francisco Peaks, under Switchback Road & Highway 89N. After crossing the highway, the storm drain continues for 1,300 more feet, then discharges into the detention basin. As part of the overall design, Remal had to design the storm drain highway crossing over 89N. The highway crossing section of the storm drain consists of 1-inch-thick steel casing. The steel casings are connected to the SRMP storm drain, upstream and downstream, with 5-foot-wide concrete collars. This part of the construction process included boring the storm drain under the highway.
